After graduating with a degree in Sociology and Social Administration, Lizzie discovered Shiatsu in 1984 whilst working in the NHS with teenagers who had severe learning difficulties. She subsequently left the NHS to train at the British School of Shiatsu-Do in London, including study with Sensei Ohashi, Pauline Sasaki and Saul Goodman, and graduated in 1986.

Lizzie was accepted onto the Shiatsu Society's Practitioners Register in 1987 (MRSS). From 1987 to 1993, Lizzie taught at the BSS and began studying the gentle effects of Cranio Sacral Therapy. She has beenmember of the Shiatsu Society Assessment Panel.

Lizzie began teaching for the Glasgow School of Shiatsu in 1993 and graduated from the College of Cranio Sacral Therapy in London. After trekking in Nepal, she moved to the Highlands to start a new life in 1994 and has since had two children. Close behind her love of Shiatsu come her other passions: outdoor sports, especially skiing, and choral singing.

Lizzie currentky lives and practices in Easter Ross and does home visits in Inverness. She is a volenteer Taoist Tai Chi instructor in Easter Ross and Sutherland. She continues to receive traning from her American teacher Saul Goodman in subtle soft tissue and spinal alignments during his UK visits.
