Kirsten Jenkins Shiatsu practitioner.

Kirsten Jenkins

MrSS

I qualified from the Glasgow School of Shiatsu in 2019.

Whilst in my 3rd year of training I was fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer with the Glasgow branch of the Charity ‘Freedom from Torture’ where I worked as part of a multidisciplinary team giving Shiatsu to refugees. This had a profound and moving effect on my practice. It helped my understanding of the mind/body connection and the power of positive human touch. This experience also set the precedence for my interest in the effects of trauma on the body. I have also been fortunate to work within the NHS, giving Shiatsu to NHS staff attending the homelessness conferences in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

I live in rural South West Scotland where I have a therapy room at home so most of my clients come to me. I also give Shiatsu and Holistic massage from my local community centre and once a month work with a team of Osteopaths at Ambacare Ltd in Moffat.

Recently I qualified as a Qi Gong instructor teaching the Shibashi set and am currently training to teach the Ba duan Jin form. I absolutely love teaching my Qi Gong class and am looking forward to setting up more classes in the near future and offering Qi Gong on a 1-2-1 basis as a therapy.
